Florida in Post's disclosure, cell by cell
Two cells stand out. The title is Certified Nurse Practitioner rather than plain Nurse Practitioner, and the license cell asks for an unencumbered, active RN license without the state-or-multistate wording found on many rows. Post's admissions rule still expects you to live in Florida and hold an active license here.
Coursework runs online, and nobody travels to Waterbury. Florida is where your precepted hours happen, 540 of them in primary care offices for family and adult-gerontology students, 630 in psychiatric settings for PMHNP students.

Florida's board and out-of-state graduate programs
Florida's approval statute, section 464.019, covers any institution hoping to teach prelicensure nursing in Florida, and the Board describes its approval work in those terms. No Florida rule located requires a graduate, APRN or RN-BSN program based elsewhere to apply, or to give the Board notice, before students begin clinicals.
Post's process is therefore the whole approval path. You choose the practice and preceptor, the Clinical Coordinator reviews and approves both, and Post completes an affiliation agreement with the site. For Post's general caution about boards that ask for early notice, see state board notice.
Protocols, preceptors and Florida's TEACH funding
AANP rates Florida restricted, because certain NPs must work under a physician protocol for their whole careers, though exemptions can apply. Where a protocol physician works alongside the NP, Post's catalog allows that MD or DO to precept too, while preferring NPs. Post's preceptor standards list the qualifications.
TEACH, Florida's Training, Education, and Clinicals in Health program under section 409.91256, pays facilities rather than preceptors, and AHCA, the state's health care administration agency, runs it. When the legislature funds it, the program reimburses sites such as rural health clinics, FQHCs, CCBHCs, certain shortage-area nonprofits and community mental health centers for every clinical hour of APRN (primary care) or nursing student training. The student's program must be accredited and based in Florida, and the preceptor Florida-licensed.
So a Florida school's student may arrive with reimbursement attached, and a Post student arrives without it. The TEACH statute is set for repeal on July 1, 2034.
Where Florida students search, and license reach
Jacksonville's metro holds about 1.8 million people, Orlando's close to 3 million, Tampa Bay's about 3.4 million, and the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach region about 6.4 million. Systems you will run across include Baptist Health South Florida, UF Health, AdventHealth (a Florida-based system), BayCare and HCA Florida Healthcare. Read those as a guide to where outpatient clinics cluster, not as sites open to Post students. Family and adult-gerontology students need primary care practices among them.
Florida entered the RN compact on January 19, 2018 and has left the APRN Compact unenacted. Across the northern line, Georgia and Alabama both belong to the compact and both answer Yes in Post's table, which gives students near the northern border a second option, but only after Post approves clinicals outside the home state. Can Florida residents take Post's PMHNP?
Yes. Florida's row names the PMHNP beside the other two tracks. Its 630 precepted hours belong in psychiatric care for children through older adults, so Florida PMHNP students target psychiatric practices, community mental health centers and comparable sites, not family medicine offices.
Does the Florida Board of Nursing approve Post before I start clinicals?
Florida's approval law reaches schools teaching pre-licensure nursing in the state. For an outside graduate or APRN program like Post's, no approval or notice requirement was located. What you need instead are Post's approvals: the Clinical Coordinator reviews your practice and preceptor, and the practice completes an affiliation agreement with Post.
Will a Florida clinic get TEACH funding for hosting me?
No. TEACH only reimburses hours for students in Florida-based accredited programs, and Post is in Connecticut. A complete, well-organized request, with your course, dates, hours and Post's paperwork ready, is how a Post student makes the ask easy to accept.
Could a North Florida student train in Georgia or Alabama?
Yes, with conditions. Both are Yes states for all three Post NP tracks and compact members, so a Florida multistate RN license reaches them. Before a single hour there, Post has to approve training outside Florida, and the Georgia or Alabama practice has to sign an affiliation agreement with Post.
